The statistics shed light on shipping, freight and passenger transport, in Swedish ports and wharves. The information is provided by all Swedish ports and wharves.

The statistics are used as a basis for transport policy decisions, in particular with regard to the activities of the ports. The statistics are also used by, among others, the sector organisations of the transport industry, SJ, the Swedish Maritime Administration, universities and other institutions of higher education.

The extent of the study
The study includes ships with a gross tonnage of 20 and over.

Publication
The statistics are published four times a year in four quarterly publications. The final quarterly publication also includes an annual report.
