Looking for statistics?

Rail transport statistics describe developments in the rail transport sector with regard to operators, infrastructure, vehicles, traffic and transport and accidents.

The study on road transport has been carried out by the Swedish National Rail Administration on behalf of SIKA and aims at being a source of information and providing a basis for decisions for various actors in the transport sector. The statistics are also intended to present a description of rail transport in Sweden.

The extent of the study

The study covers all rail transport operators and infrastructure managers in Sweden.

Publication

The report Bantrafik [Rail Transport, in Swedish] is published annually in printed and electronic form. Quality problems have led to considerable delays in publication in recent years. Four quarterly publications about passenger and goods transport on rail are published in electronic form.

The picture shows that the statistics are a part of Official Statistics of Sweden.
