The Swedish Institute for Transport and Communications Analysis (SIKA) and the Centre for Sustainable Development (CHU) would like to invite you to a half-day seminar on The Future of Automotive Energy: Fossil Fuels, Agro Fuels or Photovoltaic Cells. Tuesday the 6th of November 13.00 – 16.30
The massive introduction of agro fuels replacing fossil fuels has recently been seriously questioned and accused of causing problems rather than offering solutions. OECD asked in a statement on September 12, 2007, if not bio fuels offer a cure worse than the disease.
Their questioning of bio fuels was supported by environmental scientist Mr. Tadeusz Patzek, professor at UC Berkeley, in his presentation of his findings the same day in Paris. Mr. Patzek recommends a decrease of all automotive fuel use in Europe by up to 6 percent in 8 years, while switching to rechargeable hybrid and all-electric cars.
Mr. Ron Swenson, Santa Cruz CA, Director and Entrepreneur for solar cell projects
and developments around the world, proposes a new guide way system with a propulsion system using solar cells. Mr. Swenson is co-founder of the Californian-
Swedish Sustainable Transportation Fund to be.
Mr. Patzek and Mr. Swenson will give their views on these questions in this academic seminar. Invitations go to all concerned in the environmental and transportation field. Prepared, critical opponents are welcome.
